Going
out:
Airlie
Beach is a really good spot for going on the rip. There are loads of
bars to choose from. Here are the best:
Morocco's:
Beside
Koalas, Shute Harbour Road
Although not part of the Koala Hostel premises, this is basically their
bar. Can get a bit too quiet but usually have good promotions. The bar
serves very nice food.
Beaches
Bar and Bistro:
362
Shute Harbour Road
This bar is huge and always has a large crowd. One of the most popular
bars in Airlie due to it's affiliation with the hostel of the same name.
Paddy's
Shenanigans:
Shute
Harbour Road, Under Tricks Nightclub
It seems nowhere in Australia is complete without an Irish bar. This
pub is usually packed and has good live bands playing on most nights.
Magnums
Bar and Grill:
Shute
Harbour Road
An outdoor bar with cheesy bands playing dodgy cover versions of Barry
Manilow's 'Copacobana'. Decent for a meal or a few quiet ones in the
evening. Nice pizza too.
Trick's
Nightclub:
Above
Shenanigan's, Shute Harbour Road
If you're well oiled by the the time you leave the Irish bar, chances
are you'll make your way upstairs to this small nightclub. Good for
a late jar.
