Cairns is a great place for backpackers due to the amount of hostels it boasts (most of which give free nightly meals in restaurants), a great nightlife, and many other activities such as bungee jumping, white-water rafting and skydiving. It is also the best place to go diving on the Great Barrier Reef as the Outer Reef here is where the reef is most lively. If you don't feel like any of the afore mentioned and fancy chilling out on the beach, you will have to chill out on a bus before hand as Cairns doesn't have a proper beach. This is a shame as it has everything else (especially that nightlife I mentioned earlier!). Facts: |
