This small town just south of Darwin has one main street running right through the middle called Katherine Terrace. This terrace is actually part of the neverending Stuart Highway. Not much lies in this town which isn't of much interest to travellers apart from Katherine Gorge, part of Nitmiluk National Park. This wonderful 13 gorge river system makes for a nice days canoeing. For those who can't find the energy to paddle their way down the river, swimming and walking are just some of the other activities which are done in the park. Facts: |
